Our wallets and accessories are made from natural, renewable raw materials. All products are made from high-quality leather entirely by hand and become loyal companions to our customers.
We use only natural leather sourced from the food chain. This ensures that we treat nature's resources responsibly and with respect for the environment.
Why are your wallets so extremely durable?
It is quite simple: we make our wallets exclusively by hand from genuine full-grain buffalo leather, considered the toughest leather in the world. We also seal the surface using a special sanding technique. As you use the wallet, a living patina develops that underlines the individual character of this expressive leather.
What exactly is a Hodalump?
A Hodalump is, roughly translated, a cheeky fellow with a few tricks up his sleeve.
He is funny, knows everything better, and nobody puts anything past him!
He is the alpha, the boss – or simply put, a Hodalump.

Care instructions:
Clean the surface thoroughly with a damp cloth. Then apply leather care (available from us) with a soft, clean cloth and massage it in gently. Avoid chemical cleaning agents.
Safety notes:
✔ Material behaviour: As this is a natural product, the colour may change slightly due to external influences such as moisture.
✔ Use: Do not store the product near open flames or extreme temperatures.
✔ Note for allergy sufferers: Genuine leather may contain natural and chemical tanning agents. Sensitive skin may react to them.

Leather care
Care: keeping it looking good for years
Leather is skin. It dries out, and dried-out leather cracks — almost always first where it is bent every day: at the fold of a wallet, along the holes of a belt, where a strap meets the body. That kind of damage cannot be repaired. Everything else can.
Prevention takes little effort. Two or three times a year, a thin layer of leather grease, left to soak in, done. After a proper downpour or a Wiesn season, sooner. Our leather grease nourishes the leather, keeps it supple and makes it water-repellent without discolouring it or leaving it sticky.
The amount matters: apply it thinly. A thick layer does not give you better-kept leather, just a greasy surface that holds dust. And leather does not like heat — not on the radiator, not in direct sun, not in the tumble dryer. Leather that has got wet dries slowly at room temperature, and is only greased afterwards.
None of this applies to suede and nubuck. There, grease seals the open surface and leaves it dark and blotchy — those pieces are brushed dry.

Production process
How leather goods are made at Hodalump & Ratschkatl
Behind every single piece from Hodalump & Ratschkatl lies genuine craftsmanship: decades of experience, precise handwork and a passion for detail that you can see – and feel.
1. Choosing the material: The process begins with the careful selection of high-quality materials. Only the best full-grain buffalo, goat or cowhide leather – sourced from the food chain and left natural – is used for our leather goods.
2. Cutting: Experienced craftspeople cut the leather into precise shapes according to the product design. Every piece is cut individually to make sure it fits perfectly and shows the natural grain of the leather at its best.
3. Stitching and double seams: The individual parts are carefully sewn together by hand. Particular attention goes to the double seam at the most demanding points of the product, which not only creates a robust join but is also a hallmark of our products.
4. Oiling and tanning: After stitching, the leather goods are oiled with high-quality vegetable oil to make the leather supple and bring out its natural colour. This step also gives the leather a certain resistance to external influences.
5. Finishing and patina: A special sanding technique seals the surface, which not only creates a beautiful sheen but also allows a living patina to develop. This patina keeps evolving over time and makes every wallet unique.
6. Quality control: Every product passes the strictest quality checks to make sure it meets our high standards. Despite these checks, a seam occasionally comes loose because of the individual nature of the leather. Every order therefore comes with an automatic two-year guarantee: should a manufacturing fault occur, simply contact us and we will send you a replacement free of charge.

Kunden lobten diese Lederbrieftasche für ihre „hervorragende Qualität“ und „schöne Handwerkskunst“. Viele stellten fest, dass das robuste Büffelleder „authentisch und nicht chemisch riecht“. Die Geldbörse bietet ausreichend Kartenfächer und eine durchdachte Organisation. Einige Kunden gaben jedoch an, dass es „anfangs steif“ ist und „beim Füllen dicker wird“, obwohl das Leder bei Gebrauch weicher wird.

Sind alle Fächer mit Karten gefüllt, ist sie allerdings nicht mehr ganz schlank, aber das hat ja jeder selbst in der Hand.
Einfach ein wunderschönes Portmonee aus weichem Leder mit ausreichend viel Stauraum für Kreditkarten, Führerschein und Perso. Ist unter anderem Hodalump Artikeln in 12 Jahren schon mein drittes mit Steinbock Prägung. Tolle Qualität, super Optik und griffig.

Die Holadump Steinbock Geldbörse macht optisch einen sehr schönen Eindruck und ist sehr gut verarbeitet.Sie verfügt über sehr viele Kartenfächer (für mich persönlich zu viele). Ich würde mir die Geldbörse jederzeit wieder kaufen.
Das Portemonnaie ist sehr schön, tolles Leder und schönes Design. Es ist jedoch zu wenig Stauraum bzw wenn man alle Cartentaschen benutzt und Geld einlegt, ist es zu dick und steht auf (siehe Foto). Einfach unpraktisch.

wenn die Gelbörse ZU VOLL GELADEN bzw. ÜBERLADEN wird, dann steht diese leider auf.
Bei normaler Füllung passiert dies normalerweise nicht.

Eine sehr robuste Lederausführung. Einziges Manko für mich : die Klappfunktion wird eingeschränkt. Wenn ich Münzen und Karten in der Geldbörse habe, sperren beide Seiten auf
Super schöner, eleganter Artikel!
Die Qualität ist hervorragend, jedoch die Maße sind sehr knapp gehalten. Wenn man die ganzen einTeck Möglichkeiten nutzen möchte incl. Des Scheinfachs schließt die Geldbörse nicht mehr. Da nutzt die gute Verarbeitung auch nichts.
Ein echt toller Geldbeutel. Platz für mehrere Karten und zwei Fächer für Scheine. Nur das Fach fürs Kleingeld ist etwas zu eng. Was ich besonders mag ist dieser herrliche Ledergeruch. Der Geldbeutel insgesamt ist sehr stabil und hält bis jetzt was er verspricht. Eine klare Kaufempfehlung.
Qualität und Preis sind unschlagbar.

Schön gearbeitet, wertig in der Haptik aber ums A...lecken zu klein für Kfz Scheine, Sozialversicherungsausweis und alles was etwas größer. Schade
Vor zweieinhalb Wochen bestellt. Schon einen Tag später kam eine Mail mit der Versandbestätigung. Nach eineinhalb Wochen habe ich reklamiert, weil die Geldbörse noch immer nicht eingetroffen war. Nun hieß es plötzlich, man habe Lieferschwierigkeiten. Geldbörse sollte am vergangenen Wochenende verschickt werden. Bis heute erneut nicht angekommen. Stattdessen habe ich von Haderlumb gestern eine Mail bekommen, mit der ich das Produkt, das ich angeblich vor zwei Wochen schon erhalten hatte, bewerten soll. Irgendwie läuft in dem Laden wohl alles schief. Kundenservice miserabel. Muss nun wohl über Paypal das Geld wieder zurückholen.
Sehr gute Verarbeitung leider hat sich der Stoff vom Kartenfach getrennt eigentlich schade war zwei Jahre in Benutzung

Diese Geldbörse wird wirklich immer schöner. Mit jedem tragen wird das Aussehen besser.
Der Geldbeutel ist zu 100% hochwertig verarbeitet. Das Leder ist toll, die Nähte sind bombenfest. Er bietet ausreichend viel Platz für alle Karten, das Münzfach ist ebenfalls groß genug. Die Prägung auf der Vorderseite ist total stylisch. Super Preis-Leistungs-Verhältnis.

Are your leather goods waterproof?
Our leather goods are made from high-quality, robust buffalo leather that is naturally water-repellent. Light rain is no problem, but they are not fully waterproof.
To keep your Hodalump products in good shape, we recommend regular care with our leather grease. If your bag or wallet gets wet, let it dry slowly in the air – never directly on a radiator. Dirt can be removed carefully with a dry cloth.
With the right care, your Hodalump stays a reliable companion in any weather.
How long does shipping take?
We know you want your new Hodalump bag in your hands as soon as possible. That is why we usually ship orders within 24 hours of receiving payment.
Delivery within Germany takes about 1–2 working days. Orders to other European countries can take 2–4 working days depending on the country. We work with reliable carriers such as DHL to make sure your parcel arrives quickly and safely.
